Broadcast a Message to All Your Clients

Some messages are for everyone: you're away next week, check-ins move to Sunday, a new programme starts on Monday. Sending the same text forty times on WhatsApp takes an evening, and you never really know who read it.

A broadcast is one message, written once, that every client sees the next time they open their client app. You then see who has read it, who hasn't, and how each client reacted.

When a broadcast is the right tool

Use a broadcast for news that is the same for everyone, or for a group:

  • Schedule changes: holidays, a different check-in day, slower replies for a week
  • Programme news: a new block starting, a challenge, a group kick-off
  • Reminders: "Progress photos this Sunday, please"

Keep personal coaching out of it. Feedback on someone's training, food or check-in still belongs in a one-to-one reply, where it lands in context. A client who gets a broadcast every few days starts skipping them, so save it for messages that matter to them.

Send a broadcast

  1. Open Clients and click Message clients, next to the search box.
  2. Write your message. Line breaks are kept, and links become tappable for your clients. A message can be up to 1,000 characters.
  3. Under Who gets this?, keep All clients on the app, or choose Selected clients and tick the people it's for.
  4. Click Send to 41 clients (the button shows your real number), then Send to confirm.

The confirm step is there because a broadcast can't be changed once it's sent. Read it through once before you press Send.

Who "on the app" means

A broadcast reaches clients who have set up their client app login. Clients you've added but who haven't set up their login yet aren't in the count, and the dialog tells you how many there are.

To bring them in, send them their invite: click Send invite on their card on your Clients page, or open the client and use Copy invite link to send it yourself. Once they've set up their login, they're included in your next broadcast.

Archived clients and the demo client never receive broadcasts.

What your clients see

The next time a client opens their client app, your message slides up over the screen, with your name and when you sent it. Underneath are four reactions: 👍 ❤️ 💪 🙏.

  • Tapping a reaction sends it to you, shows "Sent to" with your name for a moment, and closes the message.
  • Tapping ✕ closes it without a reaction.

Either way, it counts as seen. The message never opens in the middle of a workout or a form: if a client is busy, it waits until they're back on one of the main screens.

Clients also get a notification in their bell, "Your coach sent you a message." Tapping it opens the message again, where they can change or take back their reaction.

See who has read it

Open Message clients again and click Sent messages at the bottom left. Each broadcast shows when you sent it, who it went to, and a line like Seen by 33 of 41 · 21 reacted.

Open one to see:

  • Not seen yet: the clients who haven't opened it. This is your list for a quick personal nudge if the message matters.
  • Seen: everyone who has, with their reaction and when they saw it.
  • A count of each reaction.

A client "sees" a broadcast when they react, close it, or open it from their bell.

Plans

Broadcasts are included on Pro. On Free and Starter, once five or more of your clients are on the app, the Message clients button appears with a small lock; click it to see what Pro adds. See Plans and client limits.
